NWVT Treasurer – Volunteer Leadership Opportunity
Northwest Vascular Technologists (NWVT) is seeking a Treasurer to join our leadership team. This is a volunteer position and an opportunity to become more involved with NWVT while helping support the organization and the vascular ultrasound profession.
About the Role
The Treasurer works closely with the NWVT committee to help oversee the organization’s finances and maintain accurate, organized financial records. You do not need previous experience serving as a treasurer or on a professional board or committee. Our team is supportive, collaborative, and will help you learn the role.
If you are comfortable with numbers, manage your own household finances well, pay attention to details, and are willing to learn, you may already have many of the skills needed to be successful in this position.
Responsibilities
The Treasurer’s responsibilities include:
- Maintaining organized financial records for NWVT
- Monitoring income and expenses and helping ensure funds are managed responsibly
- Providing financial updates to the committee
- Assisting with budgeting and financial planning
- Working with other committee members on financial matters related to the NWVT Annual Conference and other organizational activities
- Helping ensure appropriate financial documentation and reporting are maintained
- Participating in virtual committee meetings approximately every 6–8 weeks
- Attending the NWVT Annual Conference and participating as a member of the leadership team
Who We’re Looking For
Previous Treasurer, accounting, or bookkeeping experience is not required. A good candidate is someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable working with basic numbers, and willing to take responsibility for an important part of the organization.
Experience managing household finances, budgeting, spreadsheets, bookkeeping, or similar responsibilities can be helpful. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is interested in becoming involved and working collaboratively with a supportive committee that works closely together.
